About Leo

Welcome to the music corner of Leo Chan, a dedicated clarinetist, educator, and performer based in Yorktown, Virginia. Recently graduated with degrees in Clarinet Performance and Music Education, and currently pursuing a Master's in Teaching at Christopher Newport University, Leo focuses his teaching on care, community, and cultural appreciation. As a Virginia All-State clarinetist, concerto competition winner, and performer with ensembles across Hampton Roads, Leo brings both professionalism and practical skills to whatever he does. Whether working with beginning students or advancing young musicians, his teaching focuses on building strong fundamentals, musical confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for music in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Summary

Summary: Highly motivated clarinetist with a focus on music education and clarinet performance. He has played for 12 years, in numerous ensembles and played a variety of genres ranging from Classical to Jazz. Leo has also served as Vice-President, Secretary, and Music Director of CNU's Omicron Nu chapter of Phi Mu Alpha.
